New College Seniors Win Prestigious Randall Awards

New College is very proud of seniors Randy Arnold and Mark Ortiz, each of whom  has earned a Randall Outstanding Undergraduate Research Award for their research. The Randall Awards were established in 1997, when the Randall Publishing Co., now Randall-Reilly Publishing, and the H. Pettus Randall III family created the Program in memory of Henry Pettus Randall Jr., a distinguished UA alumnus.

Randy’s research project, “Iconography of the Southeastern Ceremonial Complex: Tracing the Mono-myth of the Heroic Twins” was nominated by his advisor, Prof. Catherine Roach. And Mark’s research project, “What Dreams May Come: Toward a Radical Politics of Becoming in the Anthropocene Era” was nominated by his advisor, Prof. Ellen Griffith Spears.

Congratulations!
