Congrats to New College Professor Dr. Marysia Galbraith who was awarded the 2017 Bronislaw Malinowski Social Science Award by the Board of Directors of the Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences in America (PIASA). The eminent anthropologist Bronislaw Malinowski was a founding member of PIASA. This award recognizes a scholar in one of the fields of the social sciences who has written a book of particular value and significance dealing with an aspect of the Polish experience. They selected Marysia’s book, Being and Becoming European in Poland: European Integration and Self-Identity. The award was announced and bestowed at the annual conference of the Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences in America, which took place in Krakow, Poland from June 16-18, 2017.
